Jose A. Velasquez is the Founder and Head Master of Instituto Progreso Educativo V.E.L.A., with more than 20 years of martial arts training and teaching experience.

A 6th Degree Black Belt, Head Master Velasquez has trained in multiple martial arts and combat disciplines, including Taekwondo, Hapkido, Boxing, Kickboxing, Jiu-Jitsu, Krav Maga, and Military Combat Training.

Throughout his career, he has worked with and instructed children, adults, law-enforcement officers, military personnel, and former service members, adapting his instruction to different levels of experience and training objectives.

His teaching philosophy goes beyond physical techniques. He emphasizes discipline, respect, confidence, self-control, leadership, physical fitness, and practical self-defense, while encouraging every student to continually develop both physically and mentally.

As the founder of Instituto Progreso Educativo V.E.L.A., Head Master Velasquez is committed to building an educational environment where martial arts is used as a tool to develop stronger students, responsible leaders, and individuals of character.
